Surfing the internet using mobile phone

Note: This guide is only for normal phone which only runs java browsers. Not for Windows mobile, smart phones, iPhones, etc. You may refer to user's manual for more information.

There are many people that weren't aware of the internet function on their phone. Most phones today can support at least a GPRS packet data service (others are EDGE, 3G, etc.).

An example here : Nokia 3500 Classic supports GPRS class 10 and EDGE class 10.

First of all, make sure your area has coverage (refer network operator's website for more information). Most area with GSM may have at least GPRS.

Get the latest internet configuration settings from the network operator. Save and set it as default (refer your phone's manual on how to do this as this depends on manufacturers).

On your phone, subscribe to internet plan (consult your network's operator).

Open the phone's browser and test. You may download Opera Mini for the best internet experience. Websites that began with m is for mobile (such as m.facebook.com or m.google.com).

Have fun!
